Face Electrotherapy

Face Galvanic treatments - use low-voltage direct current in two ways, known as desincrustation and iontophoresis, to aid the deep-cleansing and deep-nourishing of the skin. Desincrustation treatment deeply cleanses the skin by opening the pores and removing the build-up of sebum and keratinised cells. Iontophoresis treatment deeply nourishes the skin by softening the skin and pushing the beneficial ingredients deep in the skin.
 (60 minutes)                                                        £40

High Frequency Treatments - use an alternating current at a high voltage but low current flow. It passes through the skin to produce heating effects. There are two methods of using high frequency. The direct method is good for greasy and acne prone skin due to its stimulating, drying effect. The indirect method is used for dry, dehydrated and mature skin. It is also a warming and relaxing treatment which is beneficial for clients who feel tense and stressed.

Cosmetic acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture, also known as Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, is a holistic therapy that aims to address all aspects of ageing and health. It involves the insertion of tiny, hair-fine needles into specific points on your face to manipulate your body’s energy flow and increase the circulation. When needles are inserted, the minor trauma increases blood flow and stimulates cell regrowth. It will also encourage the production of collagen, the protein which is vital to keep the skin youthful and elastic. The treatment stimulates local circulation of blood and lymph to the face, improves muscle tone, encourages tightening of the pores and alleviates the common signs of ageing.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage

Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. It involves working the soft tissue of the body to ease stress and muscular tension. It increases the blood circulation and lymph flow, and promotes mental and physical relaxation.

One of the main benefits of Swedish massage is to promote overall relaxation. Massage can stimulate the sensory nerves to work on the brain to release endorphins or the ‘feel good’ chemicals. Swedish massage is also very effective in relaxing the muscles, reducing muscle tension and spasm, relieving muscular pain and stiffness of joints. It increases the blood circulation and lymphatic circulation, helps to eliminate the toxins and waste products from the body. Swedish massage also benefits the skin due to the increasing circulation of blood to the superficial capillaries. The oil used during the massage also moisturizes and nourishes the skin.

AromatherapyAromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils extracted from plants for medicinal purposes. It is a natural holistic therapy, which combines the healing power of massage with the therapeutic properties of essential oils. Essential oils can be easily absorbed by the skin, and the essences are also inhaled during the treatment to work on the mind and body. Aromatherapy can help ease sore muscles, dispel tension and restore well-being.  It also helps to alleviate the effects of stress.

As a holistic therapy, Aromatherapy Massage (ARM) is designed to treat your overall needs, not just one symptom. The therapist will first take a full medical history and details of your lifestyle to ensure you get the right treatment. Then a blend of 2 – 3 essential oils will be prepared to suit your individual needs.  The therapist will usually test the oils on your skin first to check for allergies or sensitivities.

Full body massage is carried out using gentle massaging techniques to apply the oils. It is also possible to massage part of the body, for example, back and shoulders, depending on the individual's needs.

Reflexology

ReflexologyReflexology is a holistic therapy of applying gentle pressure to reflex areas on the feet or hands to stimulate the body's own healing process. It encourages deep relaxation and restores the balance within the body.

Reflexology works by stimulating specific areas in the feet or hands, known as Reflex Areas, that correspond to every part of the body, including organs and glands. Treatment of these reflex areas promotes healing in the corresponding part of the body by stimulating the flow of energy and dispersing the blockages that impede energy flow through the body. It is used to relieve stress and tension, improve blood supply, promote nerve conduction and bring about a state of deep relaxation.

Reflexology is a popular alternative therapy that is considered to have a range of benefits. Some of the benefits of reflexology include stimulating the central nervous system, boosting circulation, increasing energy, reducing stress and promoting relaxation. Reflexology also eliminates toxins, speeds recovery after injury or surgery, helps relieve sleep disorders, relieves pain and enhances overall well-being.

Cupping

Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which special cups are put on the skin for a few minutes to create suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localised healing takes place. Cupping has a similar effect to deep tissue massage. Scientific research indicates that Cupping could affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, which helps blood circulation and causes tissues to release toxins, activates the lymphatic system, and clears colon blockages. It releases muscle tension and relieves pain.
